S.A.V.E. Women and Men Program Logo: Mobile Cancer Screening - Cancer Education - Early Detection

The Rutgers University “S.A.V.E. Women and Men” Program is a lead agency of New Jersey Cancer Education and Early Detection (NJCEED). It brings education and screening to Essex County residents who do not have medical insurance.

The Mammography in Motion van provides mobile screening services for breast cancer, colon cancer, and prostate cancer.

The S.A.V.E. Program has been active since 1996, and currently operates a mobile mammography unit that goes to community sites in Essex County. Thanks to the support of University Hospital, Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, and the NJCEED Program, we are able to offer services on a state-of-the-art vehicle with digital equipment and an exam room and changing room on board. The quality of images produced by the new equipment is in every way as good as what is produced in a stationary facility.
